Our Story

Hello! We are Keith and Leah, the founders of Homegrown Hand Thrown. I (Leah) grew up the daughter of a potter and in 2020, like many, we were bored out of our minds at home. It was then my dad finally handed down the art of pottery and it stuck… with Keith! I had a giant baby in my belly at the time, and the whole center-of gravity situation really threw off my ability and desire to continue learning. Keith, however, quickly became obsessed. Since, he has spent many late nights in our garage molding, crafting and creating beautiful new pieces for people who love them. We are beyond happy to have started as a little Etsy shop to now having the ability to open our own platform for selling and displaying products! We hope you like our items and they bring you as much joy as they bring us.

Our logo is hands with a hummingbird because the day we were developing it, a hummingbird flew into our Tijeras home and Keith had quite the time trying to catch it, so that day we decided that was it- hands that bring joy and beauty, because we need more of that in this world.

We strive to use local clay when we can, and Keith has been working to hand-craft all of his glazes.
